AUCKLAND, Monday. While she slept with two small children in a room of a Chinese shack at Mangere yesterday morning, Marie Hapi, aged 20 years, was struck and injured by a length of piping. Her husband, Wiri Munahi Hapi, aged 25 years, has been arrested and remanded on a charge of attempted murder. The woman's condition is reported not to be serious. She and her husband had both been working in Chinese gardens, but for the "past month had been separated.
