Captain W. Baul has left the luxury yacht Northern Light owned by the violinist Zlatko Balakovic While in Sydney Harbour, Madame Bajakovic assembled the crew and addressed them on the subject of the ship's discipline. Captain Paul took exception to this, as being responsible for the crew and their discipline. But the musician's wife, owner and master of the yacht, thought differently. She dismissed him on the spot. He thereupon politely enough gathered together his effects and went to spend a holiday in Sydney before leaving by steamer for his homeland. Balakovic himself kept out of the trouble, practising diligently on his violin the while. Madame declares, says the Sydney Sun," that the cruise will continue just the same. This year the flax is blossoming freely on Stewart Island which, according to the Maoris, means a long summer, reports the South News correspondent. Rata is also starting to bloom on the southern shores of Paterson's Inlet, and the scented Ieheaweka is covered with its dome-like masses of white blossom. The kakas drink the honey from the rata blossom and hundreds can he seen daily on the trees, especially at the Bravo Islands where the flower is early.
