TO-NIGHT A thrilling steeplechase furnishes the climactic thrill in "Along Came Youth," the latest Charles Rogers starring Paramount picture, now showing .at the Grand Theatre. Rogers, with five other riders, engages in the race for the high stakes, and the hand of Frances Dee, his leading lady in this romantic comedy. In this picture, Rogers is seen as a young sportsman, who is stranded without funds or the means of getting them, in London. By accident, he meets Miss Dee, scion of an aristocratic but improverished British family, and falls in love with her. , Later, when Rogers is foreed to take a job as a chef in a s.well mansioh house, he learns that Frances' home is on the adjoining estate. He is forced to put up a great bluff to prevent her knowing he is only a kitchen "mechanic." She discovers the truth, and her love remains j steadfast. But Rogers is forced to adopt strenuous means to recoup his lost fortune. He does it hy riding a winner in an exciting steeplechase. Others in the cast of this sparkling romance-comedy of gay life and exciting society events are Stuart Erwin, who appeared with Rogers as the befuddled fellow-soldier in "Young Eagles"; Betty Boyd, who was a Wampas baby star in 1929; Leo White, old-time comedy partner of Charlie Chaplin, and a number of other talented players.
