Eec. Dec. 23, 11 p.m. SYDNEY, Wednes. jhe counting of the absentee and lStal votes continued to-day, but no jnge in the state of the parties was iforded. Colonel Cameron (United Australia rty) however, improved his chances Brisbane, and reduced the lead of i Lawson, the Federal Labour Party ■mber from 644 to 198. Colonel nieron may yet win. [t is unofficially stated that Mr. istey retained the Bourke seat by jlight majority for Federal Labour. On present indications the Lang rty will win five seats in New iitli Wales, jthough AJderman J. rden may yet be defeated in Cook. The preferences in the doubtful its will not be allocated until next ek.
