For the first time loud speakers were used in the Christchurch Cathedral recently to convey the sermons, in full and natural tones, to the chancel and the more distant parts of the nave where hearing has in the past been difficult. As far as could he judged the experiment was successful enough to warrant the installation being made permanent.
