SEDITIOUS INTENTION OF PUBLICATION ALLEGED PROPRIETOR PROSECUTED

WELLINGTON, Tues. The issue of a "red" workers' newspaper closely associated with the Communist movement in Wellington on September 14, resulted in the appearance of the proprietor and publisher, J. J. Robinson, at the Police Court to-day on a charge of printing and publishing a paper expressing seditious intention eontrary to the War Regulations. Accused elected to ■ be tried at the Supreme Court, but it was ascertained there was no provision for such option in the Act under which Robinson was eharged. The Magistrate Mr. MeNeil, adjourned the case till January 18, and . admitted Robinson to bail in £25.
