SHANGHAI, Monday. The Japanese movement in Eastern Manchuria is aimed principally at Chinese, bandits and irregular soldiers who have_been without leaders since the defeat of General Man Chu-san in the Nonni River battle. Two Japanese regiments are concentrating at Chin-chow to drive the Chinese who are resisting stubbornly. Japanese bombing planes at dawn to-day attacked the Chinese position at Chantu, Tien-kaitung and Fakumen, inflicting heavy casualties. General Minami, a former Japanese War Minister, has 'arrived in Manchuria and intends to remain a fortnight to make personal investigation because he believes the responsibility for the present situation is his, since he issued the original orders for the Japanese occupation of Manchuria.
