SALVATION ARMY
RETURN OF CAPT. SAM HAYES A well-known figure in Rotorua, Staff-Captain Sam Hayes, will conduct a special series of meetings at the Salvation Army during next vveek-end. -Staff-Captain Hayes will be remembered by most of the older residents of Rotorua as being the officer in charge of the Salvation Army Institute for convalescent returned soldiers from 1918 to 1921. He is a -returned soldier, and lost one leg in active service, but in a wonderful manner he has triumphed over this disability, and has recently been appointed to the charge of the whole of the Army's operations in the Auckland province. A popular feature of the days of the "Blue Boys" was the Sunday night after Church community song service and the Salvation ' Army social hall was too small for the hundreds who soUght admission. For the sake of those many old Rotorua residents who have happy memories of those "sing songs" and who woulj. like to venew acquaintance with the StaffCaptain, a song service has been arranged for Sunday night next at the Salvation Army Hall under his leadership and assisted by a firstclass orchestra.
