YOUTH STRIKES HEAD ON BOX USED AS WICKETS STUMBLED WHEN AT PLAY

AUCKLAND, last night. As the result of striking his head on a box, that was in use as wickets in a game of cricket in a suburban street; Alfred Arnold Howes, aged 18 years, was killed this afternoon. Deceased was one of several youths who were playing cricket. He was running when he stumbled and fell, striking his head on the edge of the box. He was dead when the ambulance arrived.
