ALWAYS GOODBYE
LUMSDEN HARE IN ONE MORE DETECTIVE ROLE Whenever a talking picture has a role of a Scotland Yard detective, Lumsden Hare always gets first call. He recently enacted one of England's relentless sleuths in the Fox pictures, "Scotland Yard," and "Charlie Chan Carries On." In "Always Good-bye," Fox production, starring Elissa Landi, opening next Saturday at the Majestic Theatre, Hare is once more a member of Britain's world^famed police system. "The beauty of playing a Scotland Yard detective," Hare explained recently, "is that all the world respects the efficiency of that great organisation. No criminal, however clever, can hope to escape them. For that very reason, I have studied their methods, and try to follow them exactly in my portrayals on the screen." Proof of Hare's statement is seen in "Always Good-bye," when he suecessfully intervenes in Miss Landi's behalf to bring about the stirling climax of the picture. Lewis Stone and Paul Cavanagh play the featured male roles in this Fox romantic drama, with John Garrick and Frederick Kerr in the other important roles. William Cameron Menzies and Kenneth Mackenna directed.
