A new expression of concern over the Manchurian dispute, couched in friendly but positive terms, has been communicated to Japan by the United States Ambassador (Mr. W. C. Forbes), on instructions from the Secretary of State (Mr. H. L. Stimson). The Ambassador again emphasised to the ,Japanese Foreign Office the United States, solicitude that the obligations under the Nine Powers and Kellogg and Briand Treaties should be respected. No formal communication was dj|livered to the Foreign Office, but tne United States' attitude" was again expressed verbally by the Ambassador.
