( Drunk and Fighting | For being found drunk in Fenton Street and for assaulting James Black by striking him with his clenched fist • on Friday evening at 6.40 p.m., James Mooney was convicted in the Magistrate's Court on Saturday morning by Mr. S. L. Paterson, S.M., and fined 10/- on the first charge and £1 on the second, with witnesses' expenses 9/- and medical expenses 10/6. Aecused was arrested soon after the incident by Constable 'Roberts. Senior-Sergeant Carroll said that at about 6 p.m. on Friday evening accused met Black hehind a hotel. He had come from Arapuni in the morning and had been drinking. He toid Black that he was a fighting . man and to show his ability hit him. Black then went down the street and accused followed him and hit him again, knocking him down twice. Black, whose face was bleednig freely, was forced to seek medical attention.
