MAJESTIC
TO-NIGHT "Iron Man," which opens to-night at the Majestic Theatre, Universal has given Lew Ayres a picture of power, strength and utter sincerity. It is to the credit of the star — and it is Lew Ayres' first real starring picture — that he rises to the occasion and proves himself an actor of the first magnitude. "Iron Man" is a powerful drama, and one which makes no concessions to situations or solutions which are "typically movie." It moves with inevitableness from start to finish. This powerful love story of the prize ring is from the novel by W. R. Burnett, and was a book of the nionth club issue. It was hailed by critics as even more powei-ful and true to life story than "Little Caesar," which both as a book and as a motion picture broke records. Incidentally, Francis Edwards Faragoh, who wrote the screen play and dialogue of "Little Caesar," also wrote the screen play and dialogue of "Iron Man." "Iron Man" stars Lew Ayres, the youth who made such a sensation in "All Quiet on the Western Front," in the role of a light-weight fighter who, through the clever haidling of his manager, played by Robert Armstrong, eventually wins the lightweight crown. His wife, the role being taken by Jean Harlow, of "Hell's Angels" fame, then steps into the picture, with disastrous results. John Miljan, Eddie Dillon, Mike Donlin, Mary Doran, and many others are in the cast of this production. Don't fail to see "Iron Man."
