"GIVE IT A GO"
MORE REFERENCES TO TRANSPLANTING TREES "There is no doubt that Mr. Tschopp has been hustling things along himself lately and he deserves a lot of credit for the. way he has oushed the job forward," said Cr. W. Galbraith at last night's meeting of Jie Rotorua Borough Council when referring to the progress of the trees planted in the ornamental island'opoosite the entrance to Whaka village. The Mayor (Mr. T. Jackson) also paid a tribute to Mr. Tschopp and ,o the relief workers who had carried out the transplanting. Their work had been fully equal to that of exoerienced men. Cr. A. Smith, howover, was still inclined to be pessimistie about the trees; he considered 'that only about a dozen of them were alive. "Cr. Smith, you are a confirmed oessimist in this matter," remarked he Mayor. Cr. Smith: No I am not, but we iro just making ourselves foolish. We are trying to buck the almighty. "We will give it a go," said the Mayor, and after some further dismss'on it was decided to take steps o obtain further trees for transdanting.
