COMMUNIST CONVICTED FOR RIOTOUS BEHAVIOUR AT KATOOMBA SEQUEL TO ELECTION MEETING

Rec. Dec. 16, 9.35 p.m. SYDNEY, Wednesday. The Communist, Joseph Schelly, was convicted at Katoomba on a charge of riotous behaviour, and ordered to enter into a recognisanee to he on good behaviour for two years, in default, imprisonment for two years. Joseph Schelly is the seaman who precipitated the recent seamen's strike in Australia. An election meeting addressed by him at Katoomba last week ended in a riot.
