WELLINGTON, Tues. Southerly gales, accompanied hy driving and heavy seas delayed the in-. tercolonial steamer Maunganui on its run from Sydney to Wellington. The vessel was scheduled to arrive at 6 a.m. to-day, but did not anchor until 4 p.m, ; The passengers emphatically agree!, and the officers casually admitted, that the trip was one of the worst expeyienced by the Maunganui for a long time-. Not long after the ship left Sydney she ran into heavy weather, which did not- abate until this afternoon. For several days the seas Tarere so high that spray was hreaking ever the smoke room and the -top deek, while the lower decks were, at times, dangerous to walk upon.
