FIRE-FIGHTERS HELPLESS

SYDNEY, Monday. Defying 300 fife-fighters a bush fire with a fifty-mile front is raging through the pastofal properties and threatening Cobar, in the Western New South Wales. The fire is travelling at tbe rate of 30 miles a day. The flai'nes bave already destroyed thousands of acres of grasslands, and two stations of 150, 000 and 200,000 acres have been burnt out.
