sixty men employed at otahuhu workshops ' given notice

AUCKLAND, Thursday. Sixty men employed at the Otahuhu , railway workshops have receiyed notice that they will be put pff on December 18; They are fitters, carpen-. ters, painters, etc., who are classed as ca^uals though sopie • have up to 2Q years'- service. On Christmas Eve last year 106 men were put off, and at Easter another 68. These were apart frqrft" erp-t ployees, who have been compplsofily retired on superannuation. The Railway Board ' visited the ■ workshops . yesterday. *
