SPECIAL GRANT RECEIV1 BY ROTORUA DISTRIC] COMMITTEE / The Rotorua Unemployipenti Committee has been advised l Unemployment Board that it has allocated a sum of money for s distribution during the fortnigl mediately prior to Christmas. The Board has suggested th money might be paid out in* under No. 2 seheme, which give private individuals or farmers ti portunity of engaging relief li for work on farms, in gardens oi vate properties. Under this sct the employer contributes half oi wages paid and the unemploj fund the other half. The local mittee has adopted the suggestiffi will be pleaged to re.ceive eaxlj plications from persons requiris bour under the seheme. This additional grant will be only in really necessitous cases this money, together with the int ed weekly allocation which has made up till the week, ending,® ber 19, should give all uueijip workers jn the towp au3' dlstrif opportunity of earning some u hefore Christmas.
