NAPIER HOTELS
NO ATTEMPT YET MADE TO REBUILD PREMISES jlIGENSES MAY BE REFUSED NAPIER, Monday. Mr. Bowden, S.M., chairman of the Napier Licensing Committee, expressed dissatisfaetion to-day with the progress of the rehabilitation of Napier hotels destroyed by the earthquake and fire. "We seem to be up against an undamaged brick wall," he s'aid, "as not one brick has been placed on another towards rebuilding the Masonic, Criterion Provincial and Central Hotels." He adjourned the annual meeting till ! next quarter, when the committee will be faced with the possibility of refusing licenses for the hotels named if nothing has been done.
