NAPIER, Wednesday. Two native entertainers Henare Tawhiri, and Dave Nicholls were camped near the river last night when they heard an unwelcome visitor. One thereupon commenced to snore while the other left the tent by passing under the rear and pounced on, the
visitor as he entered through the fiap. The natives then trussed up the man, who was'named Patrick O'Shannessey, and sent for the police. The magistrate this morning imposed a sentence of six months' imprisonment with hard labour. His Worship charaeterised the prisoner as a pest to the community. O'Shannessey had several previous convictions.
