AIR FORCE PROVIDES 'PLANE FOR ERRAND OF MERCY KAIKOURA TO WELLINGTON

WELLINGTON, Mon. Beeause a Kaikoura resident required an urgent operation a Puss Moth of the New Zealand Air Force was called into use and brought her to Rongotai Aerodrome this afternoon. Shortly afterwards she was in hospital in Wellington. Neither the Wellington Aero Cluh nor the Canterbury Aero Cluh had a machine suitahle, so the Defence Department was approached, with the I result that Squadron-Leader Findlay \ left Wigram Aerodrome for Kaikoura, \ where he picked up the patient. He \ then flew to Wellington, arriving at \ Rongotai at 2 p.m. The free ambul- \ ance was waiting the arrival of the \ machine. « j
