NEW SCHEME OPERATIVE IN AUCKLAND ON MONDAY

AUCKLAND, Friday. The new Scheme of rationing under No. 5 Scheme comes into operation on Monday. With the assistance and co-operation of the local bodies and school committees the Labour Department anticipates that every registered unemployed man able and willing to work will obtain three full weeks of rationed work during the present month "to tide them over Christmas." Under the new proposals it is expected that an additional 1000 men will Be employed.
