WHAT IS THIS AFRICA?
A correspondent to the Sydney Sun, Ida Knowe (Chatsville) asks where and what is this Africa where the , Springbok cricket team eomes from? Africa was discovered some time ago by Vasco da Gama, of Portugal, } and by Pre-eminent Pictures, Inc., of Hollywood, Gal. In the South of Africa, which is called , South Africa, is Capetown. This is where the Cape 'gooseberries come from. A gooseberry is a green raspberry with feathers. Africa is known as the Dark Continent. This is because the lampposts in the jungle are very far apart. There are a lot of jungles in Africa. If they were all placed end to end it would provide work for all the African unemployed. There are a number of savage blacks in the African jungle, and it is very hard to get them out. You may have noticed the same thing about the African cricket team. Africa's first settlers were called Bores. There are still some Bores in Africa and they talk for long whiles fiercely abput, the lion which they shot which was bigger than any other lion. Hence the Bdre War.; But most of them; have now gone hack to their London cluhs. There • is also a race of pygmies in Africa. , These live on buffalo meat and wliat they make by being photographed for the movies. In Africa there are liohs, tigers, - elephants, monkeys, tigefs, springhoks, elephants, lions; tigelrs, and many other kinds of wild animals. Not one .of these Was picked f of the African Gricket XI. Probably that's what makes them wild.
