PRESENTATION OF CUP TO ROTORUA TENNIS CLUB. . CHRISTMAS TOURNAMENT. A well attended meeting of the committee of the Rotorua Lawn Tennis Club was held on Tuesday evening, Mr. Norman Smith (club captain) being in the chair. Details in connection with the annual Christmas tournament were finalised. Mr. G. T. McDowell will act as tournament secretary, and the match committee was empowered „to appoint the other tournament ofiicials. On behalf of Mrs. Sumner, an, offer was made to the club of a eup, to be known as the Wallace Sumner Memorial Cup, to be presented for competition at the annual Christmas tournament, and to have the name of the winner of the men's championship singles engraved on it, the winner to hold a ininiature of the cup, The offer was accepted with thanks, the members present expressing their" appreciation of the fine offer made by Mrs. Sumner. Nominations for 20 new members were accepted and several resignations on account of removal of members from the district were received. A letter was received from the secretary "of the Bay of Plenty SubAssociation, forwarding the draft rules for inter-club play in connection with the Dunlop ' Shield, and these were approved. He also adyised that arrangements were in hand for the visit tb Rotorua and the Bay of Plenty of the Australian players who would b'e eompeting in the North Island and the New Zealand ehampioii■ship meetings, and that if the visit could be arranged it would probably he necessary for the club to arrange accommodation for the visitors for one night. Messrs. G. Yallop and H. C. Smith were appointed to fill the Vacancies on the committee.
