"Thousands of tons of erude oil come into this country diity free," stated a member of the audience at Mr. T. Forsyth's meeting in Wellington, when asking whether the candidate would favour a tax Tbeing placed upon this commodity. He said that so far tlie possibilities of this tax had been overlooked by all three parties. Mr. Forsyth agreed that sueh a tax might be imposed.
