SUNDAY MEETINGS.
ELECTOR.
To the Editor. Sir, — In this morning's . tesue . of your paper appears a letter over the signature of Mr. A. Gillanders, which may be described as a vicious little stab at Mr. E. E. Yaile. I would point out that other candidates have also found it necessary to hold Sunday meetings, due no doubt to the short space of time available to visit all of the centres of this scattered electorate. I am sure that no one regrets the necessity for this more than does Mr. Vaile. In reading Mr. Gillanders' letter one wonders why this gentleman has never before raised a protest against the forms of Sabbath deseeration which occur in his own district from time to time. It would appear that Mr. Gillanders uses? his piety only as a weapon to. damage Mr. Vaile, rather than for any other 'object. If this be so, his attitude is very removed from the teachings of the Great Masfcer Whom he professes to follow. — T am. #»+.(?•
