RIFLE SHOOTING
ROTORUA MINIATURE CLUB'S WEEKLY SHOOT. R.M. CHALLENGE CUP. The Rotorua Miniature Rifle Club held its weekly shoot on Moxxday night, when 39 members took part. Some excellent scores were put up, W. Beamish heading the list with the creditable figure of 124. Those whose scores were 90 or over were : — W. Beamish, 124; Walker, 115; A. Ford, 112; Bates, 110; Reid, 109; L. Clarke, 107; Knight, 107; R. Hay, 103; II. Hardcastle, 100; K. Donaldson, 100; W. Donaldson, 98; Gillett, 95; Brownlie, 95; Whitley, 94; Painton, 93-; Fairley, 91; Adolph, 90. The leaders in the three grades now are. — A Grade:Bates, 375; B Grade: Whitley, 306; C. Grade: Hardcastle, 275. The position of the teams is: — No. 1 Team, 2135; No. 2 Team, 2185; No. 3 Team, 1701; No. 4 Team, 2198. Trophies have been allocated as follows for the present series, which ends on Monday, December 14 next: Highest score off the rifle during the series in each of A, B and C Grades. Highest aggregate for series in each of A, B and C Grades.Best handicap shoot and runner-up to be decided on the final night of the series. Trophy for winning team. R.M. Challenge Cup, to be presented for grand aggregate, 80 per cent. of the year's shooting to count, the Cup to be won twice in succession or three times at intervals. A medal is to be presentdd each year. except the year in which the Cup is won outright.
