UNEMPLOYMENT
DOES THE LABOUR PARTY HELP THE WORKER? It is interesting to note, in view of the Labour Party's claims regarding the settlement of the unemployment problem, just what the record of the Labour Party in England and Australia reveals. The latest returns show that, in AustraPa, Queensland has 16 per cent. of its workers unemiployed, while New South Wales has nearly 31 per cent.' In 1929 Queensland turned out its Labour Government for a National Government, while New South Wales is at present suffering under a Labour Administration. Figures speak for themselves, and it was a good day for Queensland workers when the National Government assumed office. In England, the figures are even more striking, and the great Labour Leaders, Messrs. MacDonald and Snowden, realised that they had to get back on a sound, sane footing by assisting the National Government. The workers of New Zealand should take heed of this eloquent lesson, and safeguard their families, their homes, and their jobs by supporting the sane measures and stable Government of the Coal'tion Party.
