Determined to begin life anew, Powell tells Garole of his p'ast, and asks her to be • his wife. Caroie accepts, and Powell makes plano to jilt his pretty and devoted aeccmpliee :(Wynne Gibson) . But Wyne has no intentions of giying up Powell. She warnsi him that he is not the man foi- Caroie. From this point on," the story's acfion is developed with intense dramatic skill, buTdfng up to one of the most impressive climaxes seen on the talking sereen in a long time.
