The subsidy to be made will be at the rate of 2/6 in the poun.d on the \ average annual amount of rates. col- j! lected by the local bodies during the \ three years ended March 31, 1930, ] and means a total sum involved of £ £250,000. j The grant will be applied in rnak- £ ing refunds to ratepayers at the rate c of 121 per cent. of the amount pay- c able in respect of rates levied for the j flnancial year ended March 31, 1932. f Grants also apply to road board dis- ± fcricts entirely within the bpundaries c of a county. \ This is a step towards the lifting i of the burden from our producers c that the Coalition Government in- E :ends as part of its policy towards re- ]. storing financial stability. and confi- r lence. — Advt. 2
