TWICE DAMAGED

ABANDONED CAR IS WRECKED BY LORRY ROTORUA RESIDENT HURT While returning to Rotorua from Taupo on Wednesday night, a car driven by Mr A. Saraty, of Rotorua crashed into a bank on a bad corner when negotiating the steep hill between Wairakei and Oruanui. The car was considerably damaged, and Mr Saraty suffered severe facial euts and abrasions. He was picked up by a passing service car and taken back to Taupo but has now returned to his home. , One severe cut in his face necessitated the insertion of six stitches. One wheel of the car was torn off, but the machine, apart from that, was not badly damaged. Apparently, however the damage was extended when a heavy post lorry negotiating the corner later In the night, struck the abandoned vehicle and reduced It to a wreck.
