YORK, Wednesday. / The New York "Times' " Sao Paula correspondent states that Bert Hinkler was en route to Buenos Aires ,via Rio de Janeiro when he was arrested by the authorities. After his landing .outside Fort Aleza this morning, 'the .police surrounded his plane ,and demanded his vise and authorisation to fiy over Brazilian territory, which he did not have. He was taken into custody immediately and the 'plane was held for the State. Hinkler appealed to the British colony at Fort Aleza for aid, ultimately interesting the officials of the Booth steamship line, who saw the British Counsnl. The Consul arranged the vise and requested the authorities to release Hinkler which they declined to do. The consul however, is confident that his release will be effected within 48 hours. Hinkler, in landing at Fort Aleza, completed one of the most difficult trips of his flight, niuch of it being over dense jungle.
