CONDITIONS IN WAIRARAPA CAUSE GRAVE CONCERN WELLINGTON, Thursday. Farmers in the Wairarapa are facing a serious situation owing to the prolonged dry spell. Although the summer months have hardly started the pastures are already drying up and the hay crop has suffered badly. Owing to the dryness of the ground it is impossible to sow supplementary crops. This, on top of falling prices on the H.onie market, is causing -the gravest concern. Heavy rain is wanted badly, but I even if it comes within the next few j days it may be too late to save the j farmers' losses running into thousands of pounds. j
