SEASON CLOSES
LADIES GOLF CLUB HOLDS PRESENTATION OF PRIZES
The Rotorua Ladies' Golf Club offi.cially closed its season yesterday when the presentation of the season's troph'cs was carried out at the Arikikapakapa clubhouse. A medal handicap was played in the morning and a bogey foursome in the afternoon. The presentation of trophies was carried out by Mrs H. Troutbeck who made a special trip from Napier to officiate at the function. Miss S. Snodgrass, captain of the ladies club, in a brief speech, officially announced the closrng of the year of golf just concluded. She also referred to the success of the recent New Zealand Ladies' Championship meeting held on the club's course. At the beginning of the season, Miss Snodgrass stated, she had appeal to the members to assist during the championship, and she wished to take that opportunity of thanking members for their willing help. She also thanked Mrs J. McCormick for her generous donat'on of prizes and Mrs Troutbeck for coming so far to officiate that afternoon. In conclusion, Miss Snodgrass spolce of the fine work of their secretary, Mrs La Trobe Hill, who had so ably handled everything during a busy and difficult year (Applause).
