The Te Whaiti Athletic and Axemen's Club held a most successful meeting on Saturday when an interesting programme of athletic and j chopping events was decided. ] The weather was fine when the meeting commenced in the morning, but was interrupted for a period during the afternoon by a very heavy downpour of rain. The programme was successfully completed, however, and brought to a fitting conclusion by a very enjoyable dance in th'e. evening when the Te Whaiti hall was filled to its dancing capacity. Many visitors were present from as far afield as Rotorua and Taupo. Results of the sports events were as follow: — 12in. Maiden Chop: — R. Knapp, 1; Johlson, 2; J.
