PROGRAMME OF EVENTS FOR FRIDAY NEXT ENTRIES CLOSE ON THURSDAY The first meeting of the management committee of the newly formed Rotorua Athletic and Cycling Club was held last evening, Mr. E. G. Guy presiding.
Arrangements for the opening sports meeting to he held at the High School grounds on Friday next commencing at 6 p.m. were completed, and the following officials were appointed: — Haniicapper, Mr G. H. Weir; assistant handicapper, Mr. F. A. Hayward, starter, Mr. A. R. Ryder, referee, Mr. G. H. Mason; judges, Messrs T. C. Robertson, R. G. Webb and H. Musgrave; timekeepers, Messrs Shiels, La -Trobe Hill and H. W. Howden; marshall, Mr. E. G. Guy; marksmen, Messrs Evans and J. C. Hinton; Lap Steward, Mr W. S. Henderson; call steward, Mr. A. G., Gotterill; track stewards, Messrs D. Steele and A. de Luen; Press and record steward, Mr. C. Casey. Programme of Events It was decided to hold the following events at the first meeting. Prizes will be given to winners only in each event, but pointsi will be recorded for first second and third places 'over a series of six. evening meetings, the winners at the end of the series to receive trophies. — 150 Yards handicap; 100 Yards open handicap; 13-20 yards handicap; long jump. jump ; relay race, High School pupils versus the rest. Distance four laps each of 110 yards. Entries for the events must be handed to Mr, A. De Luen, Hinemoa Street not later than noon on Thursday next and must be accompanied by sixpence entry fee for each race. Entries from High School pupils may be handed to Mr. R. G. Webb. #
