FANTASIA
3 1 SOCIALIST LABOUR AND ITS I ' POLICY. IThe "New Zealand Worker" (official organ of the Labour Party) in m a recent article, made clear the || Socialist-Labour viewpoint. Asking itself the question, "How can the GovII ) ernment make the best use of the II ) resourees at its command?" it an- ! swers as follows: "By becoming the |j only employer, as it would of an army. Abolish the use of money for |[ all internal dealings. The best wages || are food, clothing^and shelter. Close ■I the banks as banks, and put the build|j ings to some useful purpose: e g., jj ! public dining-rooms. Note: Nobody J] I would need to go to a bank, as money || ; would be useless, .a six-hour day for ; j the manual worker. Every family to || I possess a motor-car. Petrol, like all II other necessaries, would be supplied ■ free in reasonable quantities.'' I These are a few Socialistic ideas. , ! A more fantastic policy of confisca5 tion, destruction, and foolishness I would be hard to conceive. Yet every J Labour candidate is pledged to supIport the Socialistic objective of the New Zealand Labour Party, "the !' socialisation of the means of production, distribution, and exchange." | The Labour Party are making | frantic efforts to gain the Trensury : Benches by extravagant statement J and promises, and a "pink policy." I The commonsense of the New Zea- [ land elector is no less than that of I j the British, and he will show his disj| | approval of such tactics at the baliot J | box. (L.2) — Advt.
