s icee. Nov. b, 8.5 p.m. CANBERRA, Friday. The Lieut.-Governor of Papua has sent a radio message to the Prime Minister, Mr. J. H- Scullin, reporting the massacre of at least 17 natives in the western division of Papua. The massacre was carried out by • natives of the Fly River district. The cause of it is being investigated by . the Resident Magistrate, Mr. Wood- - word, who declared that the Fly River natives, who are very treacher- . ous head hunters, probably were short of tobacco and other articles.
