RETURNED SOLDIER FUNERALS
R.
REID,-
(To the Editor.)
Sir, — In reply tp "Digger's" letter in yesterday's "Morning Post" re the funeral of the late Mr. McCardell, we do not wish tQ enter upon lengthy d'scussion on this matter, but would like the general public to appreciate the following: — (1) "t has always been our endeavour to obtain representation of the Returned Soldiers' Association at funerals of returned men, whether they are meu]ibers qf the association or not. (2) Time does not always permit us to get into toiich with members who can give the time to attend. (3) It frequently fiappens that members who do attend a funeral pm.it to advise the secretary that they are willing to represent the associati°n- a In conclusion, we. assure you we would value ihe co-operation of members of the association or "diggers" who have the necessary informiation and time at their disposal to come forward and advise the secretary. For : and on behalf of the Rotorua branch of the N.Z.R.S.A.,
Rotorua, Hon. Sec. Nov. 5, 1931.
