FACTORY MOVED IN NIGHT

Ten special trains removed 2000 tons of the Manchester Ford works to the new factory in Dagenhani, Essex, near London. Each train carried some £50,000 worth of machinery. The removal was accomplished by the London, Midland and Scottish Railway, and was one of the greatest hauls in railway history. It is 205 miles from the Pord sidings at Manchester to Dagenham, and each train made the journey in one night.
