MR. E. W. McCARDELL

The death occurred unexpectedly early yesterday morning of Mr. Ernest William McCardell, of Rotorua, at the age of 43 years. Mr. McCardell was a well known and respected resident of Rotorua, especially among the sporting bodies, in which he took a great interest. He was a member of the football management committee during last winter, and took an active part in cricket, playing as lately as last Saturday. For the past six months Mr. McCardell had been engaged as unemployment ofiicer in Rotorua, in which position he did much good work in finding positions for men registered for unemployment relief. Mr. McCardell leaves a widow and family to' mourn their loss.
