MAJESTIC
TO-NIGHT Yariety is not alone the spice of life. It is equally the spice of. lpve, according to Maurice Chevalier, star of Paramount's "Playbpy of Paris," showing at the Majestic Theatre for three days, starting to-night. Chevalier is the first screem actor since Valentino to awaken universal romantic response in the hearts of the feminine motion picture public. |n speaking of love, Chevalier talks of screen | love. "I must have a new leading j woman in each of my pietures. It | would be terree-ble tq be accused of lack of imag-ee-natiqn in love making, and this wpujd surely happen if I had the same Iqd-ee every time. "Each woman must be made love to in a different way," he argues, "but the method, the technique, must nevair be changed for the same - woman. ■ You see what I mean?" Chevalier's rule is proved by his record. Sylvia Beecher played opposite the smiling Don Juan in his first Paramount picture, "Innqcents of Paris," Jeanette MacDonaid was the ; Queen of "The Love Parade." Evelyn Brent was his romantic inspiration in "Paramount on Parade," and, in."The Big Pond," it was Claudette Colbert.
