HORSE AND MAN BADLY INJURED 12

CAR STRIKES TEAM ON ROAD NEAR FAIRY SPRINGS A man named William Parker, an employee of Mr, Russell of Fairy Springs, sustained a broken leg and head injuries, on Thursday afternoon when a car driven by Mr. A. G. McClure of Rotorua erashed into a team of horses which Parker was driving along the road in the direction of Fairy Springs. One of the two horses in the team was badly hurt and had tq be destroyed. The accident oceurred about half a mile on the Rotorua side of Fairy Springs. Mr. Parker was turning his team across the road into the gateway of a paddoek when one of the horses became restive and was struck by the approaching car. The injured man was brought into Rotorua by a passing motorist and admitted to hospital while the horse which had suffered a broken leg and other severe injuries, was destroyed, The car was badly damaged.
