(Press Assn.-

RESULT WILL CONVINCE THE WORLD OF BRITISH STAUNCHNESS NATIONAL NEEDS FIRST

— By Telegraph — Copyright.)

LONDON, Wednesday. The Prime Minister, Mr. Ramsay MacDonald has issued a message to the nation in which, after thanking the millions cf all parties who suppoi t ed tho National Government at the polls, and subordinated for the mo~ ment party f eelings to national needs, he says: — "The majority is as unique as it is gratifying and niust convinee the wholo world that when Britain calls for assistance willing hands and de~ voted minds will always respond heartily. The very emphasis of the response is embarassing, but I appeal for forbearance as woll as confidence. If tho people see our task is difiieult we will also give them ample evidence that the Government is facing it with sincerity, and that men who inay not see cye to eye on ordinary political questions are united heart and soul in finding the b'est way to overcome our present trouble. To my political friends, who have suffered sueh unusual reverses, and especially to those of them who with splendid faith and courage hacked our appeal and helped to swell the victory, I give assurance that our triumph will in no way mean that the interests of the working classes will be overlooked in the performance of the task before us."
