World Tramp for £1600.

The world's champion hiker recently arrived at Cardiff. He is Mr. Andrew B. McWhyte, who has been tramping since 1927, and plans to continue until 1934. Newfoundland, Ganada, Norway, Sweden and Ireland have been traversed by him during the past four years, and if he continues until the time limit, he will win a wager of 8000 dollars (about £1600). Mr. McWhyte was a trawler fisherman and occasional trapper in Newfoundland when he made his wager of a world trek in eight ye^rs. A condition of the wager is that he must start and return penniless, but he is allowed to do sufficient work to keep him supplied with food. *
