RIFLE CLUB

COMPETITION CONDITIONS DECIDED. A meeting of the committee of the Rotorua Maniature Rifle Club was held on Thursday evening. The competition for the best aggregate scores is to be extended over a longer period, the next series of shooting to commence on November 2 and to end on December 12. After this date the club will go into recess until Mareh next year. Four trophies are to be proeured for the next series of matches, to be allocated as f ollows :— For the highest aggregate score over the series; for the highest score off the rifle on trophy night; and two trophies for the highest score and runner-up of the handieap competition. Messrs. J. Brownlie and W. Winslade were appointed scrutineers, to be responsible for the placing and scoring of targets, no other person be- , ing allowed to handle the targets until the scores have been posted on tbe board other than tbe club captain when he records the sighting shots. The club's vice-president, Mr. Walker, was elected scrutineer's referee, whose word is to be final in the event of disputes arising over scores. Mr. L. Clarke was apointed ofiicial score recorder. In the event of ties, the c.ompetitors concerned are to fire off and the highest score, either off the rifle or on handieap, according to the event, will decide the winner. The club is to he divided into three grades, A, B and 0, the first made up of members recording scores between 105 and 140, the second between 85 and 104, and the third 84 and under, The best six shots out of seven in : the second series, in any grade, is to count for the aggregate score. A trophy is to be allocated for each grade in each of the following competitions :— . Highest aggregate ' score for series; highest score off rifie ,on any night in series; highest score with handieap on trophy night ; and one trophy for the club team with the best aggregate score for the series.
