PAINTERS AND DOCKERS NOW INYOLYED HEPLY TO "JOCK" GARDEN

Rec. Oct. 21, 8.20 p.m. SYDNEY, Wednesday. Events in connection with the shiping and slaughtermen's strikes are loving swiftly and ominously. The Wpping painters and dockers have ecided to refuse work on vessels al3&dy involved in the strike. Mr J. S. ("Jock") Garden, secretry of the Trades and Labour Counhas issued an appeal for funds °i' the seamen thrown out of employlent. He declared that the origin of he dispute revealed a clear case of 'ictimisation, but the secretary of he Stewards' Union replies that it is a clear case of Communist rot." The seamen will meet to-morrow to 6view the whole position and also eview the Conciliation Commission- ^ r's proposals.
