LADIES GOLF
TOURNAMENT COMMENCED AT HAMILTON YESTERDAY MISS 0. KAY COMPETING HAMILTON, Tuesday. The open tournament conducted by the Hamilton Ladies' Golf Club was commenced at St. Andrews this morning, when the qualifying round for the Ellis Cup was played. The day was perfect for golf and some excellent cards were returned. The following players qualified for the Ellis Cup. — Miss 0. Kay (Otago), 75; Miss K. Hally (Palmerston N.), 84; Mrs C. 0. Bennett (Hamilton), 88; Miss M. Goldwater (Titirangi), 88; Mrs L. Day (Hamilton), 89; Miss N. Noakes (Auckland), 90; Mrs Kenny Browne (Cambridge), 90; Mrs T. A. Milroy (Hamilton), 91; Mrs Bray (Paeroa), 91; Mrs R. Burke (Cambridge), 91; Mrs C. Blundell (Te Awamutu), 91; Mrs P. Harkness (Hamilton), 91; Mrs F. Mander (Hamilton) 92; Mrs J. First Round The first round of th'e Ellis Cup series was decided this afternoon, with the following results: — Miss 0. Kay beat Mrs Dickey, 7 and 6; Mrs R. Burke beat Mrs T. A. Milroy, 1 up; Mrs Bray beat Mrs K. Browne, 5 and 4; Mrs L. Day beat Mrs P. Harkness, 4 and 3; Mrs G. B. Bartlett beat Miss K. Hally, 2 up; Mrs J. Wilson beat Miss M. Goldwater, 4 and 3; Miss N.
