MAJESTIC
5 TO-DAY AND TO-NIGHT Any do.ubts that may exist as to the > ability of the British film industry to • produce talking pictures of a high standard of quality must be imrnediately dispelled after seeing the two feature films in the new programme presented at the Majestic Theatre last night. It is only occasionally, however, that a picture of the quality of "Loose Ends" is produced, and the management of the theatre is to be congratulated on securing this wonderful British film., "Blind Wives" has the merit of being one of the greatest stage Suceesses xn London in recerit years, and the case for the film production is a particularly strong one, headed by Edna Best arid Oweri Nares, two of the leading stage favourites in England. Oweri Nares is responsible for soxne wonderfully fine acting, and he should prove as popular as a screen actor as he is ori, the legitimate stage. The other all-Bri tish production is entitled "Not So Quiet on the Westerri Front." It is burlesque of war-time experiences, and with Leslie Fuller, one of the most popular British cdmedians, as th'e pririciple fun-maker, the audience | is provided with hurixorous eixtertaxnnxen of a rare quality.
